Background

Richey had a first career as a teacher and member of the American Federation of Teachers Union. After law school, he clerked with the Honorable S. Arthur Spiegel, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio. Since 1995 he has practiced commercial litigation and counseling with the emphasis on labor and employment law. He has a national litigation practice as lead counsel in state and federal courts, from California to New York. He has successfully litigated numerous complex class actions, including wage/hour, age, national origin and race discrimination. He now focuses his practice exclusively on mediation, arbitration, negotiation and counseling.

Richey has mediated and arbitrated scores of cases as an advocate. Background
Shadley’s first eight years of his practice were in Chicago, Illinois, primarily defending tort actions. In 1989, he returned to Cincinnati and since that time has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in a wide variety of complex commercial cases as well as those involving wrongful death or other serious personal injury. Owing to his technical background, approximately 60 percent of his practice involves construction-related disputes. In that regard, he has represented both plaintiffs and defendants, including contractors, sureties, designers, engineers, and project owners.
