“Life is not always easy ”
Life is is not always fair and and emotion- ally resilient people understand this You might think life is is is unfair after a a a a a a a a a a a divorce a a a a a a a a a a a death of a a a a a a a a a a a loved one or or having a a a a a a a a a a a disability Some people may get trapped in in these negative emotions long after the the event has passed Emotionally resilient people are able to to eventually bounce back to to their normal emotional state When you accept the the truth and learn how to to not take things personally you you are on on on your way to to emotional resilience “I am grateful ”
Gratitude means means being thankful It It means means showing appreciation for and returning kindness It’s a a a a a a a a a a personality trait a a a a a a a a a mood and an an emotion When we we are are grateful we we are are more likely to to feel good about ourselves ourselves It’s a a a a a a a a a way to to remind ourselves ourselves of of the the things that make us happy We tend to look at at at at the the negative sides of of situations Even if something does not go your your way be grateful for all the the other posi- tives in your your life “I will let this go ”
Sometimes we are hurried or in in a a a a a a a bad mood and something happens that makes us even more annoyed Perhaps you you are on on your way to the office and someone cuts you you you o off while you you you are driving You could get angry at at at the driver or try to cut that person person off But what will you you gain if you you try to get back at at at at that that person? Instead o of of dwelling on on on “the nerve of of that that person person who does not know how to drive ”
just let it go The situation will not get any better if you try to retaliate “I learned a a lesson from this ”
Did you accidentally say the wrong thing to a a a a a a a a colleague in in in distress? Instead of asking yourself why this negative expe- rience happened to to you you you think about how you you you you can use this incident to to to learn and grow from it Tell yourself you you you you will try to to to remember to think before you you you speak “This will pass ”
Setbacks and challenges will happen to you you but remember that emotions are not not permanent If you you feel like another lawyer or colleague is trying to to push boundaries and and it makes you you you angry and and you you you want to to to lash out take a a a a a a a a a a moment to to reflect on your your feelings Tell yourself that that getting angry will will not help the situation Know that that this feeling will will pass “It is is what it is is ”
You see things realistically even if they are are not the the the way you you you want them to be and you you you can still move forward If you you you are are in in a a a a a a a a a a a less than ideal situation such as getting caught in in in the the rain without your umbrella you you you realize that you you you cannot change the the situation It is is is what it it it it it is is is You deal with it it it it it There is is is is no use use getting emotional about it it it it it it because it is is unchangeable Being emotionally resilient is is not something we are born with It is is a a a a a a a a a trait that all of us can learn Many people who experience hardships in life and get through them do not become become weaker They become become stronger The The next time you you find yourself yourself fin in in a a a stressful or or emotional situation try telling yourself yourself one or or two of these phrases As Nietzsche said “What does not kill you you can make you you stronger ”
