Pupilage groups convene outside of the monthly Inn meetings to prepare their presentations. Each monthly Inn of Court meeting offers one hour of CLE credit to Inn of Court members.

Law Day, held annually on May 1, is a national celebration of the rule of law and the importance of the legal system. This year’s theme was “Cornerstones of Democracy: Civics, Civility, and Collaboration.” The CBA hosted a panel of local judges to discuss the importance of civility in the courts, opposing counsel, and clients. Panelists included Justice Patrick Fischer, Judge Matthew W. McFarland, Judge Wende Cross, and CBA Pres- ident Judge Janaya Trotter Bratton.
Earlier in the day, The Hon. Candace Crouse, First District Court of Appeals, gave a virtual introduction to the federal and state court systems, explaining how judges are selected federally, in other states and in Ohio. This educational program was live streamed for members of the legal community and general public.
