earned her J.D. from the University of Cincin- nati College of Law, magna cum laude, in 2021, and her B.A. from Kenyon College, cum laude, in 2017. Berten is admitted to practice law in Ohio. Brooks practices in the firm’s Business Representation & Transactions Group and is a member of the firm’s Data Privacy & Cyberse- curity and Intellectual Property & Technology groups. Brooks is a Certified Information Privacy Professional, United States (CIPP/US) and a Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) through the ANSI-ISO-accredited International Association of Privacy Profes- sionals (IAPP). Brooks earned her J.D. from the University of Louisville’s Brandeis School of Law, magna cum laude, in 2023 and her B.S. in Accountancy from the University of Louisville, with honors, in 2020. While in law school, she served as an Articles Editor for the University of Louisville Law Review. Brooks served as a summer associate at KMK Law in 2021 and 2022. Brooks is admitted to practice law in Ohio. Coffey practices in the firm’s Litigation Group, focusing on complex commercial and general corporate litigation matters. Prior to joining KMK Law, Coffey was an associate at a national labor and employment firm where she focused her practice on discrimination and harassment issues, as well as whistleblowing and retalia- tion. Coffey earned her J.D. from the University of Kentucky J. David Rosenberg College of Law in 2020. Following law school, she worked as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable John D. Minton, Jr., former Chief Justice of the Kentucky Supreme Court. Coffey is admitted to practice law in Kentucky. Greene is a member of the firm’s Business Representation & Transactions Group. Greene earned her law degree from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law in 2023, where she served as the managing editor of the Ohio State Law Journal. While in law school, Greene worked in the Entrepreneurial Business Law Clinic serving start-up compa- nies and served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Edmund Sargus for the United States
  Earl W. Kintner Award for Distinguished Service at the FBA’s annual meeting in September. As the FBA explains, the Kintner Award “is presented as a lifetime contribution award to an FBA member who has displayed long-term outstanding achievement, distin- guished leadership, and participation in the activities of the association’s chapters, sections, and divisions throughout the nation over a career of service.” Judge Newman served as chapter president of the FBA in both Cincin- nati and Dayton; as chair of the FBA’s Judiciary Division; and, in 2016-17, he served as national president of the FBA. Following his presidency, Judge Newman was named the FBA’s first Judi- cial Ambassador for Civics Education, an honor bestowed for his commitment to educating young people throughout Ohio and the nation about the third branch of government. He now chairs the Southern District of Ohio’s Civics Committee.

Keating Muething & Klekamp (KMK) Law Hires Six New Associates. Samantha M. Berten, Kennedy E. Brooks, Kellan H. Coffey, Lauren E. Greene, M. Hunter Hardy, and Kassidy A. Michel. Berten practices in the firm’s Business Representation & Transactions Group and is a member of the firm’s Data Privacy & Cyberse- curity and Intellectual Property & Technology groups. Prior to joining KMK Law, Berten most recently served as counsel at Fifth Third Bank where she advised business partners on legal issues related to privacy, cybersecurity, tech- nology, AI, marketing, IP, and disputes. Berten
of Law as part of a joint partnership between UC and the Clerk of Courts. The Help Center serves over 10,000 visitors per year by providing information to pro se litigants in the municipal court and the juvenile court. Help Center attor- neys also provide limited legal representation by helping guide visitors on next steps in their legal claims. Nick works with government and community partners to develop services, initia- tives, and resources benefiting Help Center visitors. Nick teaches an Access to Justice class through UC Law that offers an experiential learning component through the Help Center. Nick is a 2001 graduate of the University of Cincinnati College of Arts & Sciences and a 2005 graduate of Chase College of Law at Northern Kentucky University.
